Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro smartphones will be officially launched alongside a gaming-centric Mate 20X at an event in London on October 16. The smartphones are expected to bring improvements over what we saw with Huawei P20 Pro earlier this year. Ahead of their official launch tomorrow, Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s complete specifications and image renders have leaked, further confirming what we have already heard about the upcoming devices.
Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will be the first smartphones powered by company’s Kirin 980 SoC, which is among the first to be fabricated using new efficient 7nm process. The renders posted by WinFuture reveal that the Mate 20 Pro will feature a wide notch at the top similar to iPhone X and iPhone Xs. The notch will reportedly house additional depth camera sensor similar to iPhone X for facial recognition system.
The Mate 20 Pro also seems to have smaller chin than any other Huawei smartphone in the past and the lack of a fingerprint sensor on the back suggests Huawei could be switching to in-display fingerprint sensor. The renders also show the Leica-branded triple rear camera setup on the back and it is being arranged in the form of a square instead of a straight line seen on the P20 Pro.
