The Huawei Mate 20 series, including the top-end Mate 20 Pro, was launched in October and is widely considered the most feature-filled and capable Android smartphone at the moment. And like a few other manufacturers such as HMD Global-owned Nokia and OnePlus that have seen success thanks to a focus on software, Huawei seems to be taking a similar approach. The company’s latest phone, the Mate 20 Pro, is said to be receiving a software update that is bringing camera improvements, and the October 2018 Android security patch. According to reports, the update is 491MB in size, and adds the October 2018 security patch. However, some manufacturers are already rolling out the November patch, so Huawei isn’t exactly at the top of the game in this department for now. Key changes in the update come in the form of camera improvements, with new filters and effects for stills and videos, as well as the addition of the AI zoom feature. Considering that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is being touted for its photography chops, camera updates will likely be the focus even going forward.
