Earlier this month, Huawei launched its brand-new Mate 20 series of smartphones at an event in London. The line-up includes four flagship smartphones – Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design – and all are loaded to the brim with cutting-edge features. If you’re planning to buy a new premium smartphone soon, we suggest waiting until November, as the Chinese technology major will be launching the Mate 20 line-up in India next month.
The information was revealed by (representatives of) Huawei’s Consumer Business group, at the second Indian Mobile Congress (IMC 2018) technology conference in New Delhi. By bringing the Mate series to Indian shores, Huawei hopes to strengthen its premium smartphone portfolio in the country. It’s worth mentioning that the company already sells the P20 Pro flagship in the country, which it launched earlier this year.
All said, there are no details as to which (if not all) members of the Mate 20 line-up will be launching in India. The only one that seems to be confirmed at the moment is Huawei Mate 20 Pro, as a teaser page of the smartphone has already been up on Amazon India for quite some time now.

Talking about hardware, all Huawei Mate 20 series smartphones are powered by the company’s latest Kirin 980 SoC, built using the 7nm fabrication process. That’s paired with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB of internal storage. All members of the Mate 20 line-up run Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box, with Huawei’s EMUI 9.0 overlay baked on top. The smartphones come with triple camera systems at the back, albeit with different sensors.
