Huawei is all set to launch its flagship smartphone the Mate 9 on November 3 at an event in Munich, Germany. Even though we are now just two days away from the launch, the Mate 9 s leaks and rumors do not stop showing up. Just a day ago, the Mate 9 s teasers revealed that it would feature a large battery and there was a report which suggested that it would feature a pair of 12-megapixels and 20-megapixels rear cameras. It is already expected that the Mate 9 will come in three variants, and a new post has leaked what will reportedly be the most premium variant s specifications and features. To make things clear, the Mate 9 is expected to come in variants of 4GB RAM with 64GB and 128GB onboard storage and 6GB RAM with 256GB onboard storage the premium variant. A Weibo post spotted by AndroidPure reveals the specifications of the alleged premium variant of the Mate 9. According to the post, the Mate 9 will feature a 5.9-inch 2K display, Huawei s own Kirin 960 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 256GB onboard storage. On the software front, it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. The Weibo post also shows that the phablet could sport dual-camera-setup of 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel snappers. There is a mention of a fingerprint scanner which had been earlier predicted by analyst Pan Jiutang and it will reportedly be embedded on the back of the smartphone.
The camera specifications that have been revealed are in line with what analyst Pan Jiutang had predicted. Huawei Mate 9 s dual cameras will also be Leica engineered like the P9 but reportedly with double the features. It is also said that the Mate 9 s dual cameras will feature Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), what was missing on the P9. Recalling the Huawei P9, it sports 12-megapixels dual cameras which are Leica engineered and come with features like dual-tone LED flash, Light Painting, Super Night, Watermark, Audio Note, Ultra Snapshot and a bucket load more. Huawei is also rumored to launch the Mate 9 Pro along with the Mate 9 and the above mentioned variant could be the Mate 9 Pro. From what has been revealed so far, the difference between the Mate 9 and the Mate 9 Pro has been the display. The Mate 9, codenamed Manhattan will reportedly feature a flat-screen display while the Mate 9 Pro codenamed Long Island will feature a dual-edge curved display. While both the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro are expected to have 5.9-inch display size, the resolutions will differ. Huawei Mate 9 will feature a 5.9-inch full HD display with resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. While the Mate 9 Pro is expected to feature a 5.9-inch QHD display with resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The reason for the bump in resolution is because the Pro variant is said to support Google s Daydream VR.
