In addition to the flagship P line-up, Huawei also has the Mate series of top-tier smartphones (mostly phablets). The Mate line-up is all about powerful innards, top-of-the-line cameras (almost always with Leica optics), big screens and big batteries. Now that the company has launched the Mate 20 Lite, it has set its focus on the more premium Mate 20 (and possibly Mate 20 Pro).
While not much is known about the Huawei Mate 20, it’s very much possible that it’ll have wireless charging support, a feature its predecessors lacked. And it the latest leak is anything to go by, the Mate 20 may just take wireless charging to a whole new level.
An image (or render) of a Huawei-branded wireless charging pad was recently spotted on the Chinese social networking website Weibo. While the device (bearing model identifier LZ80 and compatible with the Qi wireless charging standard) itself doesn’t look anything out of the ordinary, what’s particularly interesting are the words ‘20W Max’ printed on it.
If this charging pad and the power delivery tech inside it are legit, the upcoming Huawei Mate 20 could very well come with the fastest wireless charging that’s ever been seen in the mobile industry. In comparison, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ support 9W wireless charging, and Apple’s iPhone X can charge wirelessly at up to 7.5W.

Huawei recently launched the Mate 20 Lite in Poland.
