Huawei has announced the launch of Nova 2s, another mid-range smartphone with four cameras in China. The smartphone is basically a premium version of the Honor 9i which also features a dual-camera setup at the front and rear. In terms of features, Huawei Nova 2s features a 6-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels that translates to 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 960 chipset and comes in two storage variants. On the camera front, it gets a dual-camera system at the rear with a 20MP primary sensor and a 16MP secondary sensor. Both the sensors come with f/1.8 aperture and supports 2x zoom and 4K video recording but lacks optical image stabilisation. The front camera sports a combination of 20MP + 2MP dual-camera system with f/2.0 aperture and supports 1080p video recording.
Huawei Nova 2s runs EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo and supports connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and USB Type-C port. It features a front-mounted fingerprint sensor and is backed by a 3340mAh battery. The Nova 2s is priced at 2,699 Yuan (approximately Rs 27,000) for the 4GB model and 2,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 30,000) for the 6GB RAM variant. It will be available in black, gray, red, rose gold and blue color options.
Huawei Nova 2s arrives on the heels of mid-range smartphones like Honor 9i and Honor 7X from its e-brand. The smartphone will compete against offerings like Oppo R11s and Vivo V7+ in the Chinese market.
