Huawei has launched its Nova series of smartphones in India for the first time, starting with Huawei Nova 3 and Huawei Nova 3i. Both these smartphones were launched recently in China, and have come to India very soon after. The Huawei Nova 3 is the more premium device of the two, and it uses Huawei’s own flagship Kirin 970 chipset, which is the same as the one on the Huawei P20 Pro. Also Read - Beware! Huawei Nova 3 and Huawei Nova 3i feature design similar to the Huawei P20 Lite with notched displays, thinner chins and a glossy finish at the back. Both run the latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2. Both devices gets face unlocking with infrared light sensor like the Apple iPhone X. Huawei Nova 3 Huawei Nova 3i price, launch offers
The Huawei Nova 3 and Huawei Nova 3i will be available in two color options in India – Iris Purple and Black. The Huawei Nova 3 is priced from Rs 34,999 for the 6GB+128GB model. The Huawei Nova 3i is priced at Rs 20,999 for the 4GB + 128GB variant. Both smartphones will be exclusively available via Amazon India starting August 7 for the Nova 3i and August 23 for the Nova 3. Pre-bookings for both devices has started already.
Launch offers on the two phones include no-cost EMI schemes, extra Rs 2,000 off on exchange, and extra 100GB data on Jio, along with extra Rs 1,200 cash back for the Nova 3i and Nova 3.
Huawei Nova 3, Nova 3i Specifications and Features
Up front, the Huawei Nova 3 features a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ 3D curved glass display with a notch and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The Nova 3i also features a similar 6.3-inch Full-HD+ display with a notch, but with 2.5D curved glass.
Inside, the Huawei Nova 3 packs in the company’s high-end octa-core Kirin 970 10nm processor with Mali-G72 MP12 GPU, i7 co-processor, NPU and GPU Turbo technology. It is backed by 6GB RAM coupled with 128GB internal storage, which is also expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card.
Coming to Huawei Nova 3i, It packs company’s own mid-range octa-core Kirin 710 12nm SoC with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. This device comes with 4GB RAM coupled with 128GB internal storage, which too is expandable up to 256GB with microSD card.
The dual-camera setup at the rear of the Huawei Nova 3 boasts of a 16-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, CAF, and a secondary 24-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture. At the front, Huawei has also included a dual-camera setup with a 24-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel image secondary sensor on the Nova 3.
For Huawei Nova 3i, the front-camera setup is the same dual-camera arrangement of 24-megapixel and 2-megapixel image sensors. But the rear camera is different and it features dual rear-camera setup of a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a secondary 2-megapixel sensor.

The Nova 3 packs a 3750mAh battery, while the Nova 3i is backed by a 3340mAh battery. Both feature USB Type-C fast charging and run the latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based with EMUI 8.2 out-of-the-box. Both have hybrid SIM slots which can accommodate two nano-SIM cards or one nano-SIM card with a microSD card for storage expansion.
