Huawei is set to launch the Nova 3 and Nova 3i smartphones with GPU turbo boost tech in India today. The Chinese smartphone maker is hosting an event in the national capital where it will make these two devices official. The launch event is set for 11.30AM and the company is not planning to stream it live.
Ahead of the launch, Huawei has already confirmed that Nova 3 will be available exclusively on Amazon India. The company is mainly focusing on the quad-camera setup and the smartphone is being teased with the hashtag #Coming4You. To recall, the Nova 3 and Nova 3i were launched in China early this month. This is also the first time that Huawei is expanding its own portfolio in the country by offering a smartphone in the mid-range segment.
Huawei’s current lineup in the country includes the Huawei P20 Pro and P20 Lite. The Huawei P20 Pro is a flagship offering with triple camera lens system and is priced at Rs 64,999. The Huawei P20 Lite, on the other hand, is a premium mid-range device that currently retails for Rs 19,999. With the Nova 3 series, Huawei will challenge the likes of OnePlus and its own e-brand Honor in the Indian smartphone market.
Huawei Nova 3, Nova 3i: Expected Price in India
In China, Huawei Nova 3 is available in two different storage and starts at RMB 2,799 approximately Rs 28,400) for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage. The higher variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at RMB 2,999 (approximately 30,500). The Nova 3i was launched in three different storage variants but the company announced price for two of those models. The base variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at RMB 1,999 (approximately Rs 20,400) while the mid-range variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at RMB 2,199 (approximately Rs 22,500).

Huawei Nova 3, Nova 3i Specifications and Features
Huawei Nova 3 and Nova 3i features a design similar to Huawei P20 Lite with notched display, thinner chin and aurora finish on the back. Both the devices feature 6.3-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphones differ in areas like memory, camera configuration and processor.
Huawei Nova 3 is the premium device of the two and it uses the flagship Kirin 970 chipset found on Huawei P20 Pro. The smartphone can be configured with 6GB RAM and option for either 64GB or 128GB internal storage. It sports dual rear camera setup comprising of 16-megapixel color sensor and a 24-megapixel black and white sensor. Both the sensors have wider f/1.8 aperture and support phase detection autofocus. At the front, Huawei has equipped Nova 3 with dual camera setup of 24-megapixel and 2-megapixel image sensors.
Huawei Nova 3i, on the other hand, is a mid-range device powered by the newly launched Kirin 710 CPU. It comes with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB of 128GB internal storage. It also supports quad-camera configuration but the sensors are of lower resolution. At the back, the Nova 3i has a combination of 16-megapixel f/2.2 main sensor and 2-megapixel depth sensor. At the front, there is a 24-megapixel selfie shooter supported by a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
Both the devices feature rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and support connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G LTE. They run EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and are expected to be available in wide array of colors including blue, black, purple and gold. The Huawei Nova 3 is backed by a 3,750mAh battery while Nova 3i offers a slightly smaller 3,340mAh battery.
