Earlier this year, Huawei launched the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus with a dual-camera setup at the rear and a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. Now, the latest leaks suggest that the company is already gearing up to launch the Nova 3 smartphone by the end of this year.

According to Gizmochina, the new Nova 3 smartphone is likely to flaunt a similar design to the Nova 2i, which was launched earlier this month. To recap, the Nova 2i is the same phone that launched as Mate 10 Lite, Maiming 6 and Honor 9i in Europe, China and India respectively.

According to the report, the leaked information hints that the smartphone will feature a 5.93-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an 18:9 screen aspect ratio. Rumors suggest that the fingerprint scanner will be placed at the rear of the device. ALSO READ: Huawei launches world’s first IPTV with Dolby Vision

Under the hood, the Nova 3 will likely be powered by the new Kirin 670 SoC that is speculated to be built on a 12nm manufacturing process. The smartphone is expected to launch in two variants – 32GB and 64GB paired with 3GB and 4GB of RAM respectively.

On the camera front, just like the Nova 2i, the Nova 3 is also said to sport four cameras. On the rear, it might come with a 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual-camera setup and up front, the device might house 20-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera setup. The smartphone is speculated to pack a 3,340mAh battery with 18w fast charging support. On the software front, the device could run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. ALSO READ: From Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to Xiaomi Redmi Note 4; here’s a list of phones getting Android Oreo

Huawei Nova 3 pricing

The Nova 3 is speculated to be priced around RMB 2,999 (Rs 29,200 approximately). The smartphone is likely to launch on December 5.

Huawei yesterday also announced that it has managed to ship over 100 million smartphones in the first three quarters of 2017. This translates to a year-over-year increase of 19 percent. This means that there are high chances that the company might surpass the 140 million units it shipped in 2016, leading to a record year for the Chinese company.
