Back in September Huawei introduced the first two devices under their new Nova series of smartphones at the IFA in Berlin. The company has now officially launched the Nova smartphone in China. Currently, the smartphone is only available in China and there is no word as to when Huawei will launch the smartphone for other markets. The smartphone comes in two variants, 3GB of RAM and 4GB of RAM. As for pricing, the 3GB RAM variant is available for RMB 2,099, which roughly translates into Rs 20,800. The smartphone is available in Bright Moon white and champagne gold color options for the 3GB variant, and rose gold and champagne gold color for the 4GB model. Talking about the design of the smartphone, it comes with a full metal body along with curved-side. The metallic body gives the smartphone a very premium look. At the bottom-edge there is a speaker grille along with USB Type-C ports. At the back, there is a round- fingerprint scanner. The device looks very similar to the Nexus 6P. Huawei Nova specifications
As reported by Gizmochina, the smartphone features a 5-inch full-HD display. The phone weighs 146g and is 7.1mm slim. Under the hood the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor paired with 3GB RAM and 4GB of RAM. Also on offer will be 32GB and 64GB of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot to further expand the memory. There are many smartphones that are anticipated to come with Snapdragon 625 in the likes of OPPO R9S, Samsung Galaxy C9 and Xiaomi Redmi 4. Smartphones like the Xiaomi Mi Max Prime, Moto Z Play and Asus Zenfone 3 to name a few have already launched with the same processor.
On the camera front, the Huawei Nova sports a 12-megapixel with f/2.0 sensor on the rear and an 8-megapixel camera up front for selfies and video calls. The smartphone is equipped with 3,020mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the smartphone comes with dual SIM slots and 4G networks. On the software front, Nova smartphone comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box wrapped under Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 UI.
The Lenovo Z2 Plus comes with a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. On the storage front, you can choose between 32GB or 64GB onboard storage. It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/2.2 with PDAF and LED flash. Up front is an 8-megapixel selfie camera of aperture f/2.0. Armed with a 3,500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The Z2 Plus boots Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.
In comparison, the Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 5 smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset. It comes with features like a 5.15-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 16-megapixel rear shooter with 4K video recording capabilities, and a 4-megapixel front-facing camera. It also features a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, IR Blaster, USB Type-C port and NFC.
