Last week, concept renders of Huawei s rumored P10 flagship smartphone were spotted online. The renders hinted at a bezel-less display inspired by the Xiaomi Mi MIX. Now, if the latest images leaks on Weibo are to be believed, the smartphone would instead feature a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge-like dual-curved edge display and also bring in support for wireless charging. Earlier it was speculated that the smartphone will feature an unusual bezel-less display on the front along with a secondary display on the edge of the device for notification. As the renders were conceptual, they were less believable. However, the newest images do suggest a set of believable features and specifications of the Huawei P10. The smartphone is shown featuring a dual-curved display with a home button in the front. The physical home button is expected to come layered with a fingerprint sensor. Huawei P10 specifications and features
The flagship smartphone with its 5.5-inch dual-curved edge display is expected to offer quad HD resolution. The predecessor, P9, offered a smaller 5.2-inch display offering full HD resolution. Speculations further point at Huawei launching not one but two variants based on the display type. Similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, there could be two P10 variants — one with a flat display panel, and another with the curved dual-edge display.
Another change from the P9 is that the successor relocates the fingerprint sensor from the rear and brings it to the front under the home button in the front. The P9 did not feature any physical home button. Details about the chipset on the anticipated smartphone are scant at the moment. For an estimation, the P9 featured Huawei s own Kirin 955 64-bit octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage with option for storage expansion. In line with earlier speculations, the latest images also hint at a Leica-engineered dual-rear camera module with flash on the Huawei P10. The Huawei P9′s dual-rear cameras are of 12-megapixel resolution with Monochrome and RGB sensors. The combination of both the sensors is aimed at capturing better color, details and sharpness, even in low light conditions. It further features an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies. In the case of Huawei P10, it is unclear if the company will continue using two sensors for capturing colors and sharpness or adopt a depth sensor to offer DSLR-like blur effects, similar to what Apple has done with its iPhone 7 Plus.
The Huawei P10 is rumored to come with wireless charging capabilities, which the predecessor lacked. If introduced, it would be the first Huawei smartphone to boast wireless charging capabilities. The smartphone is expected to be launched some time mid-year in 2017. Although there are no details about pricing of the Huawei P10, we can estimate it to be a mid-range smartphone, similar to its predecessor, Huawei P9, which carries a price tag of Rs 39,999.
