Amazon India and Flipkart are engaged in a battle to get exclusive rights to premium devices. While Flipkart has access to entry-level and mid-range devices, Amazon India has premium devices like the OnePlus 5T and upcoming OnePlus 6. With the addition of Huawei’s premium P20 Lite and P20 Pro flagship, the Seattle-based e-commerce company will further establish a lead over Flipkart in terms of premium device offering. Unfortunately, neither Huawei nor Amazon India have not shared if they plan to offer any discounts or early-bird offering as part of the announcement. Huawei P20 Lite and P20 Pro Features
Huawei P20 Lite and P20 Pro are two of the most interesting smartphones launched in the last few years. With the P20 flagships, Huawei has come close really close to dethroning flagship offerings from the like of Apple and Samsung. With the P20 Lite and P20 Pro, Huawei is also showcasing how it has come out of the shadows of Apple and demonstrates the engineering prowess of the company.
In terms of specifications, the P20 Lite and P20 Pro features a metal and glass design with the back of the P20 Pro featuring a new ‘Twilight’ color that has the capability to change colors when exposed to light. The P20 Lite features a 5.84-inch 6.1-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 while the P20 Pro features a 6.1-inch display with a resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Both the phones feature a notch at the top. Huawei says it had the idea for the notch about four years ago but did not implement it before Apple.
The Huawei P20 Pro is powered by Huawei’s own HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC coupled with dedicated neural processing unit. The Huawei P20 Lite, on the other hand, uses a Kirin 659 CPU and comes with 4GB RAM and 32 or 64GB storage while the P20 Pro offers 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Both the smartphones run EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and come equipped with features like front-mounted fingerprint sensor and fast charging.
However, the highlight of the devices continue to be the Leica-branded cameras. The Huawei P20 Lite features a combination of 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel scondary sensor. The P20 Pro takes it a step higher with the triple camera setup featuring a 40-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, a 20-megapixel monochrome lens with f/1.6 aperture and an additional 8-megapixel f/2.4 lens with 3x optical zoom. Both the models feature a 24-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
