Last month, Huawei revealed a timeframe for the roll out of the GPU Turbo technology for its smartphones. Right on cue, the company has now started rolling out the update for the P20 Pro smartphone.
The Huawei P20 Pro (and presumably P20) has received a software update with the version number CLT-L29 188.8.131.52(C432). The update is 670MB in size, so it is recommended you have a stable Wi-Fi connection before starting the update process.
The update is essentially focused on introducing Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology on the P20 Pro. The tech, as the name suggests, ensures a smooth performance while playing graphics-intensive games. GPU Turbo can be turned on from the Game Suite app.
It’s worth noting that at the moment not all games support GPU Turbo. But, Huawei is said to be working extensively with developers to expand the compatibility to more games. Currently games like PUBG Mobile and MOBA Mobile Legends: Bang Bang support the GPU Turbo mode. The software update also brings in features like Uninterrupted gaming to the Game Suite app, as well as the July Android security patch.
Going by the list shared by Huawei, it plans to complete the roll out of GPU Turbo to its smartphones by November this year. In the coming months the smartphones that are in line to receive the update include the Mate 10 Lite, Nova 2i, P Smart, P20 Lite, Y9 (2018), Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, P10, and the P10 Plus.
