Huawei P8 Lite (2017) specifications
The smartphone flaunts a 5.2-inch IPS display with 1080p display resolution, and 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood is a mid-range Kirin 655 octa-core processor paired with Mali-T830MP2 GPU, and 3GB of RAM. There’s also a microSD card slot to expand internal memory.
The Huawei P8 Lite (2017) has got some upgrades in terms of the camera as well. There’s now a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, while up front there is an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. The smartphone is armed with a non-removable 3,000mAh battery. On the software front, the P8 Lite (2017) runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box wrapped under Huawei’s EM UI 5.0 skin. Another major upgrade that the P8 Lite (2017) comes with is the fingerprint sensor, which was missing from the P8 Lite.
In comparison, the Huawei P8 Lite came with 5-inch 720p display, HiSilicon Kirin 620 octa-core SoC, 2GB RAM, and 16GB onboard storage. It also featured a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and 2,200mAh battery.
It is a tad surprising that Huawei has upgraded a two-year-old smartphone, while there’s already an official predecessor in the P9 Lite. The smartphone launched last year came with a 5.2-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, Kirin 650 octa-core chipset, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB internal memory. The P9 Lite also featured a 13-megapixel snapper at the back, 8-megapixel selfie camera, 3,000mAh battery, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi b/g/n.
In the meantime, Huawei is gearing up to make its presence felt at MWC 2017 in Barcelona next month. If all the rumors are to be believed, the Chinese company will be unveiling the P10, and the P10 Plus. Huawei’s event is scheduled to start on February 26 at 2:00PM local time (6:30PM IST).
