Huawei has announced its latest P9 and P9 Plus smartphones. The Huawei P9 is priced at 449, approximately Rs 42,000 whereas the P9 Plus is priced at 549, which is roughly Rs 51,000. The smartphones will go on sale in select markets in Europe and Middle East starting April 16. So far there s no word on the availability of the smartphones in India. The main highlight of the Huawei P9 is the dual-lens camera co-developed by Leica. The dual camera system is very similar to the one on Qiku Q Terra. It comes with a 12-megapixel + 12 megapixel set up (RGB and Monochrome sensors), which is supposed to deliver better details, color, sharpness and quality along with better photography in low light.
The camera has an Hybrid Auto Focus, which includes Laser Focus, Depth Focus and Contrast Focus. It is worth pointing out that the smartphone doesn t come with OIS. Other key features of the smartphone are slim bezels and metal unibody with ceramic finishing.
The Huawei P9 has a 5.2-inch full HD display with 423 ppi and 500 nits brightness. The smartphone is powered by Kirin 955 octa-core processor. It is available in two options – 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage, and 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. Both the variants come with the microSD slot for additional storage. The smartphone houses a 3,000 mAh battery.
The Huawei P9 Plus has 5.5-inch full HD display featuring Apple s 3D Touch-style pressure sensitivity. Called the Press Touch, the feature is already available on Huawei s Mate S smartphone. Rest of the specifications of the P9 plus are identical to the P9 except that it is only available as 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The smartphone is powered by a 3,400 mAh battery.
