Huawei is launching its P9 flagship smartphone. With unibody metal design and slim bezels, one of the key highlights of the smartphone is the dual-camera setup at the back which Huawei has co-developed with Leica. Huawei has also launched two other smartphones – the P9 Plus (with dual-cameras) and P9 Lite (without dual-cameras), but it remains to be seen if the company will launch them in India. Dual camera setup on smartphones is not a new thing. We have already seen it on HTC One M8, where one camera was used for taking photos, while other was used as a depth sensor to add DSLR-like blur effects. LG’s flagship smartphone, G5 also comes with a dual camera setup where the 16-megpaixel rear camera for clicking photos, whereas the other 8-megpaixel camera captures wide-angle photos. Now, in case of Huawei P9, the Leica-certified dual-cameras are of 12-megapixel resolution with Monochrome and RGB sensors. Huawei says, the combination of both smartphones can capture photos with better color, details and sharpness, even in low light conditions. There is also laser auto-focus and hybrid auto-focus feature, contrast focus and depth focus feature. Huawei P9 specifications
It flaunts a 5.2-inch full HD (1080p) IPS display with 2.5D curved screen. Under the hood is Huawei’s homebrew Kirin 955 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM on the 32GB variant, and 4GB of RAM on 64GB storage variant. Both variants also come with a microSD slot with support for up to 256GB.
Besides the dual-camera on the back, the smartphone also features an 8-megapixel selfie camera of aperture f/2.4 and full HD video recording capabilities. Armed with a 3,000mAh battery and fast charging feature, connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port. On the software front, the Huawei P9 runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.

In the international markets, Huawei P9 is priced at $587, which roughly translates to Rs 39,500, approximately. However, there is no word on the India pricing and availability yet but we should find out in a few hours. Stay tuned!
