Huawei seems to be working on an interesting smartphone that will feature a tall notched display, and a leatherette back panel with faux stitching. The unnamed device with model numbers ARS-AL00 / ARS-TL00 was certified by China’s TENAA hinting at an imminent launch.
Looking at the Huawei device on TENAA (spotted by FoneArena), it reminds us of the recently launched Honor 8X Max. Both smartphones feature a tall display with a waterdrop notch at the top. At the back is a vertically aligned dual-camera setup with a fingerprint sensor towards the center. The difference though is the leatherette back panel, and the Huawei logo. This upcoming device will be made available in black, white, and brown colors.
As per the TENAA listing this upcoming Huawei device will flaunt a tall 7.12-inch FHD+ 2.5D curved display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood will be an octa-core SoC paired with 1.9GHz. In place of the Snapdragon SoC on the Honor 8X Max, the Huawei device could be getting a Kirin 710 SoC.

The chipset is likely to be paired with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB/128GB internal storage options. There will also be an option to expand the internal storage up to 256GB using a microSD card. Other rumored features include a dual-camera setup (16-megapixel f/2.0 + 2-megapixel f/2.4) at the back, an 8-megapixel f/2.0 selfie camera, and a fingerprint sensor for security.
Making sure everything ticks will be a massive 5,000mAh battery with fast charging capabilities. Expected connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, and GPS. On the software front, the device could run Android 8.1 Ore0-based EMUI 8.2.
