Huawei has added a new member to its Y-series family, called the Y6 Pro (2017). As the name suggests, it is the upgraded variant of the Y6 Pro that was launched last year. The smartphone is priced at €179 (Rs 13,600 approximately), and is available for purchase in countries like Germany, Italy and France. However, there is no word on Huawei’s plans to launch the smartphone in the Indian market. Huawei Y6 Pro (2017) is available in black, silver and gold color variants.

The Huawei Y6 Pro (2017) features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone flaunts a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, along with 13-megapixel primary and secondary 5-megapixel selfie cameras.
The only drawback compared to the previous model is the smaller battery. While the original Huawei Y6 Pro packed a 4,000mAh battery, the new smartphone comes with 3,020mAh unit inside. On the software front, the device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 on top. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, and micro-USB. The smartphone also features identical specifications as the Y6 Pro with a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC. On the software front, the Huawei Y6 (2017) runs the older Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 layered above.
