Huawei’s in-house flagship chipset Kirin 980 seems all set for a debut at IFA 2018. The succesor to Kirin 970 SoC has now been leaked through a Chinese website ITHome. As per the report, Huawei‘s HiSilicon Kirin 980 will be built on the 7nm FinFET process by TSMC. The maximum clock speed for the module will be 2.8GHz for the four powerful Cortex-A77 cores, and will feature four Cortex-A55 cores for energy/power-efficiency. The GPU (graphics processing unit) is said to be 1.5 times (50 percent) faster than the Adreno 630 GPU. Qualcomm uses the Adreno 630 GPU with its top-of-the-line Snapdragon 845 SoC. There is no confirmed report as yet, but looking at the Kirin 980 leak before IFA 2018, the first phones with HiSilicon Kirin 980 system-on-chip are expected to be Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro that are likely to get unveiled during IFA 2018, similar to when the Kirin 970 was announced at IFA last year.
Meanwhile in India, Huawei is all set to launch the Nova series smartphones for the first time starting with Nova 3 and Nova 3i. Both smartphones will launch on July 26.

Amazon India has put up a landing page confirming the official launch date for the smartphones. Earlier this month, Huawei also confirmed that the new smartphones will be the first models in India to feature GPU Turbo support.
