“It’s the start of Diwali, the Festival of Lights — when people light candles and fireworks to signify the victory of good over evil,” he said in a post. Mark Zuckerberg also remembered how he celebrated Diwali few years ago in Goa. Zuckererg s fondness for India is an open secret. During his meeting with Prime Minister Modi at the Facebook headquarters, he recalled how his visit to a temple in India on advise of late Steve Jobs helped build a successful company.

Last month, CEO Mark Zuckerberg visited India and addressed a Q&A session at Delhi-IIT. Addressing the crowd, Zuckerberg answered few questions on topics ranging from the Internet.org and Free Basics to the issue of Net Neutrality.

Pointing out how important India was for Facebook and to connect everyone to the Internet, Zuckerberg said, “We won t be able to achieve our mission of connecting the world without connecting India.” Citing some researches, he also mentioned that one in every 10 people with Internet access finds a job, which also helps in lifting poverty in India.
