Microsoft’s Bing search engine had created a reputation for itself during the FIFA Football World Cup 2014 by correctly predicting outcomes of most games but one. It brought back memories of Paul the Octopus for its accurate predictions. It managed to predict 15 out of 16 games, and only missed out on the last game that was played for the third place.
Even during last week’s India Pakistan World Cup match, Bing correctly predicted India to win. However, things don’t look good for India as it plays South Africa in a few hours from now. Bing predicts South Africa to win the match tomorrow. India has never beaten South Africa in a World Cup match and Bing thinks it will not change. According to Microsoft, Bing predictions use “search, social, and other relevant data to make intelligent predictions about upcoming events, like sports games, reality TV shows, and more.” Apart from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, you can also check out Bing predictions for the Oscars and English Premier League here.
