Google has already made it easy for fans to find all Cricket-related information directly on its search page. It has announced a new feature being tested during the ongoing tournament, called live commentary. With this feature when someone searches for Twenty20 or for a particular match in this tournament, Google will offer real-time commentary from eminent Cricket personalities. During or after matches, if one were to search for a particular team or player, Google will show live photos and videos as well as real-time tweets from Cricket experts like Akash Chopra and Boria Majumdar among others. This feature will be available for select matches including India vs Pakistan, India vs Australia, the two semi-finals and the final match on April 3. The full list follows. This adds a new dimension to how fans follow Cricket matches when they are not in front of a television. Usually one has to search and then go to different websites to follow live score, updates or live streams. Before the tournament kicked off, Google added new features that showed live score updates and match schedules in Hindi as well as English.
Google is also adding more content when fans search for a particular player. So if one was to search for MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli, you will not only see articles or tweets about the player, but social posts and videos posted by the player himself.
Both the live commentary feature and personal posts from players are only in the testing phase though, and will be available till April 3, when the ICC World T20 concludes.
