Idea Cellular has today announced that it has revised its prepaid plans to stand head-to-head with other incumbents in the telecom sector. The company has introduced a new Rs 309 recharge offer with internet and voice calling benefits for its customers. The offer gives Idea Cellular users 1GB data per day limit. Under the plan, Idea Cellular users will get 1GB data per day, unlimited local and STD calls including free roaming outgoing as well 100 SMS per day. Subscribers who purchase the recharge from Idea’s official website or app will get additional 1GB data. Under the plan, the free calls are limited to 250 minutes per day, and 1,000 minutes per week. If a person exhausts the limit they will have to pay 1 paisa per second. Also, users are not allowed to call more than 100 unique numbers in a week. The Rs 309 plan has a validity of 28 days. In comparison, Reliance Jio’s recharge plan priced at Rs 309 comes with a validity period of 49 days. Under the plan, Reliance Jio offers 49GB of high-speed data with a daily limit of 1GB. However, in case customers cross the 1GB data limit in a day, they will get data at the speed of 64Kbps. Reliance Jio’s Rs 309 recharge plan also includes unlimited SMSes to all operators – local, STD and roaming.
The Rs 399 plan by Airtel, on the other hand, is among the most popular plans. It offers unlimited local and STD calls, and 10GB of data. However, the outgoing calls in this plan are charged at Rs 0.85 paisa/minute for local, and Rs 1.25 paisa/minute for STD. Additionally, the Infinity plan comes with access to Wynk music service.
Vodafone has launched a similar Rs 399 plan called Vodafone Red Basic plan. Users get local, STD, free incoming on national roaming, 10GB data, and data carry forward feature. The maximum limit to the carry forward of unused data is 200GB.
