Idea Cellular, the third largest telecom service provider, is making it convenient to recharge for its customers. The operator has launched a new ‘seamless recharge’ feature that simplifies the process of mobile number recharge online.
With seamless recharge, Idea customers will be taken straight to the recharge page of My Idea app or Idea website with pre-filled number and recharge amount details. The company says it wants to eliminate multiple steps in the customers recharge journey by pre-filling some of the information that is ought to remain the same whenever the customer does a recharge.
“We realized that through this customer centric innovation we can make the recharge experience of our consumers quicker and simpler. Idea customers can now recharge seamlessly with the recommended MRP directly from the message sent by us. This innovation is an Industry first,” said Sunil Tolani, Digital Head, Idea Cellular.
Idea says, in order to facilitate these easy recharges, Idea will notify its customers about the special offers and recharges in the form of app notifications and SMS alerts that provide links to seamless recharge option. Once the customer clicks those links, they just need to get to the payment platform and complete the transaction.
Idea has over 200 million subscribers and will soon be merging its services with Vodafone India to create the largest combined telecom service provider in terms of subscriber base. The company is also engaged in bitter tariff battle with Reliance Jio and other telcos and the new initiative will help the company to retain its existing subscribers.
In the past year, Idea has also expanded its services to offer home delivery of postpaid SIM cards, customized and recommeded packs, cashback offers on digital wallet usage and its users can also check live status of the network. It also offers enhanced customer feedback system which is now the only major differentiator between all these telecom operators.
