This new plan from Idea Cellular is similar to the one introduced by Vodafone a couple of months back. So, it should not come as a surprise that Idea Cellular is also bringing a similar plan. The plan comes across as a competitive offering since other telcos including Reliance Jio do not offer benefits similar to this for a period of 56 days, especially with a prepaid plan priced at under Rs 200. Idea Cellular Rs 189 Prepaid Plan: Benefits
With Rs 189 prepaid plan, Idea Cellular is offering unlimited calling with a cap, 100 SMS per day, and 2GB of data for a period of 56 days. This plan is similar to segmented offering from Vodafone and benefits are mainly aimed to lure subscribers away from rivals including Airtel and Jio. With this plan, Idea Cellular customers get a total of 2GB data benefit and once the FUP limit is exhausted, the users will be charged from their talk time balance.
The telecom player has removed talk time recharges like others from its portfolio, and is currently providing just three talktime plans of Rs 10, Rs 1,000 and Rs 5,000, reports TelecomTalk. This plan from Idea Cellular offers 100 SMS per day along with unlimited voice calling benefits. However, the benefit is capped to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. This plan from Idea Cellular becomes the cheapest plan with 56 days validity in the market.
Idea Cellular’s Rs 189 prepaid plan vs Vodafone’s Rs 199 plan
Reliance Jio is undoubtedly the leader and responsible for this phenomenal transformation in data rates. The firm revised its tariff last in January this year and it offers 2GB daily data, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for a period of 28 days.

Vodafone and Idea Cellular, on the other hand, offer 2GB data for the entire validity period. As a result, this plan is not for those heavy data users in the country. Bharti Airtel also has a Rs 199 prepaid plan that offers 1.4GB daily data, but has a validity of only 28 days.
