Telecom operators have become aggressive with their prepaid plans, the price point under Rs 300 is quite lucrative now. Airtel has a plan priced at Rs 299, whereas Vodafone has a plan priced at Rs 279, both offering voice and data benefits. Now, Idea Cellular has also introduced a prepaid plan priced at Rs 295 with voice and data benefits.
The prepaid plan from Idea Cellular comes with 42 days validity and offers a total of 5GB 3G / 4G data. Users also get unlimited local and national voice calling benefits, but there is a cap on the number of calls one can make. Daily calls are limited to 250 minutes, whereas weekly calls are limited to 1,000 minutes. After the FUP limit is crossed, users will be charged 1p/sec. Similarly, once the 5GB data is consumed, further usage will be charged at 4p/10kb.
Talking about competition, Airtel’s Rs 299 plan comes with 45 days validity and it includes unlimited calling without any FUP. The open market plan does not include any data or SMS benefits. However, select users recharging with the Rs 299 plan also get data and SMS benefits in select circles.
Vodafone, on the other hand, also has a plan priced at Rs 279 with offers 84 days validity. It is the cheapest plan in the market that offers long validity. Users also get 4GB data, and unlimited voice calling. However, similar to Idea, the Vodafone plan also has an FUP of 250 minutes per day, and 1,000 minutes per week.
