Now that they’ve merged together to form Vodafone Idea Limited, the country’s largest telco, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular are busy introducing new plans (as well as offering existing ones) to take on rivals like Reliance Jio and Airtel.
To that end, Idea Cellular has launched three new prepaid plans. Priced at Rs 209, Rs 479, and Rs 529, these offerings have one thing in common – they all come with 1.5GB of daily data benefit. Interestingly, Vodafone India had launched prepaid plans at the same price points a few months back. It seems both constituents of Vodafone Idea limited are trying to unify their offerings.
According to Telecom Talk, Idea Cellular’s new plans are valid across all circles in the country. Starting with the Rs 209 pack, it offers unlimited voice calls and 100 local/national SMS per day, with a validity of 28 days.
Next up is the Rs 479 plan, which also offers unlimited voice calls and 100 local/national SMS daily. However, you get 84 days to use all that.
Lastly, the Rs 529 pack again includes unlimited voice calls, as well as 100 local/national text messages per day. Only in this case, the validity is 90 days.

It’s worth mentioning that the calling benefits are not exactly unlimited. Outgoing calls with all the three plans are capped at 250 minutes per day, post which they are charged at 1 paisa/second. Also, there’s a limit of 1000 minutes per week on outgoing calls for all three plans. As far as data is concerned, once the daily FUP limit is crossed, it’s also charged.
