Following Vodafone and Airtel, now Idea has also revised the tariffs for its 2G data plans and have reportedly lowered it to 2p/10KB across eight circles. The company has slashed the prices to up to 90 percent considering their existing tariff of 2p/KB and the new plans will be rolled out from July 1.
Idea’s new data tariff will be applicable on both prepaid and postpaid 2G plans and will be valid for 90 days for users in circles including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal, Assam, North East, Bihar, and Orissa. The company believes this will help them promote data usage across these circles.
Just like Vodafone, Idea has also introduced the revised tariffs for 2G data users on the basis of pay-as-you-go, however Idea scheme will also be valid on the regular data pack limits after surpassing their free data limits.
While the data prices will automatically be updated for post-paid subscribers, pre-paid users on Idea networks can avail the new rate by getting a recharge priced between Rs. 5-10, which will be applicable for 90 days from the date of activation.
Vodafone has cut down the prices by up to 80 percent at 2p/10KB instead of 10p/10KB whereas Airtel has slashed data tariffs by 90 percent to 1p/10KB than 10p/10KB.
