IFA 2017: Motorola sets up booth for the Moto X4

The Moto X4 was earlier expected to launch on September 2, but might be a bit early.

The Moto X4 had received an official launch date for September 2 in the Philippines, although the smartphone’s launch date had been speculated since May with the last possible date being August 24. It now looks like Lenovo-owned Motorola will be launching the Moto X4 at IFA 2017. Although Motorola doesn’t have an event lined up for IFA 2017, a booth titled “Moto X4” has been spotted at the event venue in Berlin, Germany.

Popular leakster Roland Quandt took to Twitter to share an image of the Moto X4 booth from the IFA 2017 venue. The booth however was not completely setup and did not have the Moto X4 present. There hasn’t been any confirmation from Motorola as yet, for the launch of the Moto X4 at the IFA 2017. The Facebook Live event scheduled to take place in the Philippines is titled “hellomoto X”. With no other Moto X smartphone in line, it’s highly expected that Motorola will indeed launch the Moto X4.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Moto X4 is expected to feature a 5.2-inch full-HD AMOLED display, with Gorilla Glass 3 on top for protection. The smartphone will most likely be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor, and an Adreno 508 GPU for graphics. There could be two variants of the Moto X4 with 4GB RAM plus 32GB and 64GB expandable storage options. ALSO READ: Moto X4 clears FCC certification, full specifications revealed

For photography, the Moto X4 has been consistently rumored to feature a dual-camera setup at the rear. The setup is said to be a pair of 12-megapixel cameras, with one being an RGB sensor, and the other a monochrome one. Up front, it could house a 16-megapixel wide-angle camera for selfies and video calling. Fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery, the Moto X4 will possibly support 25W Turbo Charging. On the software front, the smartphone could run Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. ALSO READ: Moto G5S, Moto G5S Plus first impressions: The special edition really is here
