Taiwanese electronics giant Acer has just announced its latest gaming laptop, the Acer Predator Triton 900 ahead of IFA 2018 in Berlin. IFA is considered to be one of the leading consumer electronics and home appliances trade show that takes place in Berlin every year. Acer has already announced a number of laptops and this was one from the lineup. The laptop may look similar to most gaming laptops on the market but according to the images of the laptop and videos, it does come with a rather unorthodox and yet, impressive design.
The reason that we are terming the design of the Triton 900 as unorthodox is that of the fact that it is a 2-in-1 gaming laptop that comes with a screen that flips to move to face outward from the laptop or move toward facing the back of the keyboard on the laptop. Talking about the promotional videos that the company has added on its website, it is likely that the device will come with a side-styled hinge. The device will come with a 4Ktouchscreen display with support for Nvidia G-Sync. The hinge mechanism in the design reminds me of the one that Microsoft announced with its Surface Studio.

The interesting thing about this design is that it brings the display close to the keyboard to make it feel more like a traditional laptop while not worrying about the body wobble that we saw in previous Triton devices. According to a video teaser on the website, the company announced that Triton 900 will come with its fourth generation Aeroblade 3D fans along with a “fully mechanical keyboard”.
Acer also seems to have added a dual surface trackpad which can light-up to turn into a touch-sensitive number pad or a regular trackpad. It is likely that the device will come with a GPU but we are not sure about the model or any other specifications of the device. The company has not revealed the specifications, the price, or even the date of availability.
