Today was a day of launches. The day started with Infinix launching new S-series in India. The company launched Hot S3 as the first smartphone under this series. Apart from that the day also witnessed the launch of the HTC U11+ and Honor 7X red color variant. Infinix has launched the Hot S3 in India. The smartphone is available in two variants- 32GB variant with 3GB RAM priced at Rs 8,999, and a 64GB variant with 4GB RAM priced at Rs 10,999. The smartphone will be available exclusively via Flipkart starting February 12. There will be two color options available Sandstone Black and Brush Gold. Apart from the 18:9 aspect ratio display, the smartphone is armed with a big 4,000mAh battery. There is a 13-megapixel sensor on the rear side and a 20-megapixel camera up front with dual-LED flash. Google s Pixel Visual Core
Google is enabling its image processing chip for third-party photos apps, starting with Instagram, Snapchat, and WhatsApp. Google s Pixel Visual Core, the image-processing chip inside the Pixel 2 smartphones will be getting an update for the same. The software update that activates the Pixel Visual Core for third-party apps is rolling out over the next few days, starting immediately.
Android Oreo adoption
According to Google s Platform Versions page, the Android Oreo, the company s mobile operating system finally has finally crossed one percent adoption. Android Nougat has passed Marshmallow to become the most widely-used Android version. Android Nougat stands at 28.5 percent adoption, while Marshmallow is at 28.1 percent. Android Lollipop is down by 0.5 percent, to fall to 24.6 percent. Android Lollipop is down to 24.6 percent and Android KitKat is at 12 percent.
Vodafone Rs 399 plan revised
Vodafone has revised its new RED plan at Rs 399 for postpaid users. The company will now offer 30GB data, unlimited voice calls STD/local, free national roaming, 100SMSes, and data rollover facility up to 200GB. There is also a free 4-month subscription to Magzter and free access to Vodafone Play service for one year. The plan also includes Vodafone RED Shield, which is a device insurance that offers to protect your smartphone from damage and theft.
HTC U11+ launched in India
HTC U11+ has been launched in India, featuring a 6-inch 18:9 display and bigger battery. It is priced at Rs 56,990 and will be available in Amazing Silver color option on Flipkart from February 7. There s no 3.5mm headphone jack on the U11+. The device runs Android 8.0 Oreo and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 mobile platform. On the camera front, there will be a 12-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel front snapper.
Red Honor 7X launched
Honor recently announced a limited edition red color variant for its Honor 7X in India for Rs 12,999. The smartphone will go on open sale starting February 9 via Amazon India. To recap, the smartphone features a 5.93-inch full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 659 2.36GHz octa-core SoC, it is paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat on tops of Huawei Emotion UI 5.1 (EMUI).
Sony Xperia XZ2 accidentally listed
MWC 2018 is just around the corner and Sony is all set to hold its launch event on February 26. According to the latest report, Sony will also be unveiling Xperia XZ2 along with Xperia XZ Pro at the event in Barcelona.
The Xperia XZ2 will be the successor to last year’s Xperia XZ1 smartphone.
