Hong Kong-based smartphone maker Infinix is planning to launch a new smartphone in the Indian market. The company sent out media invitations for the media to “Save the date” for the launch event. The company has not revealed any details about what it is planning to launch at the event. Looking closely at the invitation, the new product is likely to be a smartphone with what appears to be 18:9 aspect ratio with thin bezels and a slight chin on the top of the smartphone. The chin would indicate that the new smartphone is not likely to come with a notch.

The company also added a hashtag in the invite that claims that the device will be “BeyondTheBest”. Looking at the teasers on the official Infinix India Twitter handle, it looks like the company is planning to launch the Infinix Note 5 in the market. It is also possible that the company may launch the much-rumored Note 5 Stylus on the market instead of the Note 5. The company is expected to launch this new device as a Flipkart exclusive and will be live streaming the event on YouTube. According to the company, the event is scheduled for 11:30 AM on August 23, 2018. You can catch the live stream below.

Infinix Note 5 Stylus specifications

Talking about the Infinix Note 5 Stylus, according to a report by techweez, the Note 5 Stylus will come with a 6-inch FHD+ display along with 18:9 aspect ratio. Infinix has also teamed up with Google to add the device to the Android One program. As part of the Android One program, the device is expected to come with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The device is likely to run Helio P23 SoC along with 4GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage.

The device will sport a 16-megapixel camera sensor on the front and a 16-megapixel camera sensor on the back of the device. The device will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery and pack a Stylus inside the body of the smartphone. Infinix Note 5 features similar specifications with one exception where it comes with a 12-megapixel camera sensor on the back of the device instead of a 16-megapixel one.

Infinix India has not issued any official statement at the time of writing but we will get to know soon enough.
