It seems like most of the technology companies are pushing towards digital health or well being in their own ways. The primary way they think they can help the users are by informing them about how much time the user spends on any particular app, service or even a device. Google was the first to introduce this new initiative at Google I/O 2018 a couple of weeks back and later Apple showcased something similar at WWDC 2018. It looks like Instagram is the latest service that is planning to move towards time management control informing its users about how much time they have spent on the app. Also Read - Instagram 'Live Rooms' now allows 3 more users in IndiaAlso Read - Google announces best Android apps, games of 2020 in India
According to a report by TechCrunch, the internal code of the Instagram app for Android revealed that the company is working on introducing a new section in the app with the name Usage Insights where users can check the amount of time they sent on their app. It is unclear about how the division of the time will work in the app or how comprehensive the breakdown will be. One thing that the report noted is that it is unlikely if Instagram will actually reveal all the time that a user has spent on the platform.
