Besides the post scheduling ability, Instagram has also added something called Business Discovery, which lets users view the profile info of other businesses, and Mentions, which allows business profiles to view posts they ve been tagged in.
The new change comes as part of a larger revamp of Instagram s API platform that also included a plan to deprecate the older Instagram API Platform over the next two years beginning on July 31, 2018. The old API is being replaced by the newer Instagram Graph API, which also includes the ability to analyze metrics and insights about the business s performance on Instagram, moderate comments.
Instagram has lately been on a roll with new features. The company recently added the GIF stickers feature to Stories, which sources animated stickers from GIPHY. Currently Insta is testing a bunch of new features, which includes a video calling feature, a feature that will tell users who visited their profile in last seven days.
Instagram has also promised that in the coming weeks, it will be rolling out the ability to upload photos and videos of any size to your story. After the feature is out, you will be able to upload a photo or video, pinch to share it in its original dimensions, whether it s square, portrait or landscape. Any extra room will be filled with a custom color gradient that matches what you ve shared.
The platform is also believed to be testing a text-only form in Stories, where you can place your words against colorful gradient backgrounds. The option also gives you a chance to play around with images with the color gradients still layered on top.
Besides that, Instagram is also working on screenshot alerts. This means that every time someone takes a screenshot of your Instagram Story you will be notified. Although, apparently Instagram will be easy around the first time and let you off with a warning, but the second time and later an alert will be sent out to the owner of the Story.
