Instagram, the popular photo-sharing app, now has more than 50 million users and adds roughly about 5 million users on a weekly basis. The app was recently gobbled up by social networking giant Facebook last month for $1 billion. According to Mashable, Instagram hit 30 million users during the beginning of April and then crossed 40 million users by mid-April. This is of course tremendous growth considering the app had only 15 million users when this year started.
Instagram which was earlier available as an iOS-only app then debuted for the Android devices and registered more than 10 million users in nearly 10 days after it was available on the Google Play. Wondering who’s the Instagram user number 50 million? According to Gramfeed, it’s a user named fox289 and we do expect this fellow to receive a bunch of goodies from the company.
