Instagram has launched a new video channel that brings best curated videos posted by Instagrammers, a feature similar to Snapchat s Live Stories. This new feature doesn t have a name of its own as yet, and it appears like an advertisement, just above the explore tabs. Users in the US, who opened their Instagram app on October 31, were able to see a prompt on the top of their feed, Watch Halloween s Best Videos. The feature was first spotted by the folks at ReCode. After clicking on the prompt, users were taken to video-only content feed, specially curated by Instagram employees. The basic idea about the new feature is to make it easier to find popular Instagram content of events happening around. This is a new way to experience events and big moments, as they happen, through the eyes of the Instagram community, an Instagram spokesperson told the publication. Instagram describes this new video feed as immersive, which means, the usual border, Like count and text description that we usually see in our Instagram posts.
