Intex seems to be on a roll with new smartphone launches. Recently the company unveiled the Intex Infie 3 and Infie 33 that are one of the few smartphones to comes with a tall 18:9 display screen under the sub-Rs 5,000 market. Today, the company is announcing Indie 5 budget smartphone that will be priced at Rs 4,999 and will be available for purchase through offline stores.
The smartphone comes with a simple design that features 2.5D DragonTrail Glass that protects the 5-inch screen at front. It comes in a single black color that has a brushed finish at the back. Intex has also loaded it with SwiftKey app, a QR code reader and popular media streaming apps such as Gaana and Prime Video.
Intex Indie 5 specifications and features
Intex Indie 5 comes with a 5-inch HD screen, which carries a resolution of 1280 x 720. It is powered by an unspecified 1.25GHz SoC paired alongside 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The storage can be expanded to 128GB via a microSD card. The phone runs on a 4,000 mAh battery and features Android Nougat OS underneath the hood.
For the shutterbugs, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera powered with autofocus and LED flash. The front camera is also 8-megapixel and comes equipped with LED flash to take pictures in low light situations. Connectivity options include, 4G-VoLTE, dual-SIM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It charges through a microUSB port, which also carries OTG support.

Additionally, the phone comes loaded with Swiftkey, which offers 22 major Indian languages. It can also auto-correct words and give predictions to make typing easier on the phone. The smartphone also features a built-in QR code.
