Apple is preparing for the rollout of the iOS 11.1 version and the fifth beta, which was recently released promises that one of the major issues troubling iPhone users after the update will be taken care of. The significant iOS update brings tremendous improvement to the battery backup, BGR notes. If you are a developer or a registered beta tester, you can install the iOS 11.1 beta 5, and compare the battery performance. YouTube channel iDeviceHelp conducted a series of tests to judge just how much the performance improves, and found that the battery improvement was actually included in the beta 4 of iOS 11.1. The performance was measured between iOS 11.0.3 and iOS 11.1 beta 4 on iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone 8 Plus devices. When the phones were running iOS 11.0.3, almost all died after less than five hours of screen usage. It is to be understood that that next major update to the iOS 11 might not provide you with extra power in real-life usage, but it does appear to address the current issue of excessive battery drainage. Given that the iOS 11.1 is in its last beta, we might soon be able to install it on non-developer devices.
