Apple s latest iteration of its mobile operating system, the iOS 11 will be hitting your iPhones and iPads later this year. This year s unfortunate exceptions include the iPhone 5, iPhone 5c and the iPad 4th generation. At the WWDC 2017, Apple showcased some of the key features the iOS 11 will bring forth like a smarter Siri, iMessage and iCloud syncing, ARKit for developers, redesigned App Store and more. With the Developer Preview and Beta version already out, a few more exciting features of iOS 11 are being revealed which should build up the excitement even more. Screen recording on Control Centre

iOS 11 will bring screen recording to your iPhones and iPads which can be accessed from the Control Center. iOS 11 is revamping the Screen Control menu and a new addition will be the screen recording feature. This feature has already gained attention for being able to capture Snapchat posts without the user being notified.

A possible Dark Mode on iOS 11

Apple s Dark Mode feature has been teased for quite some time and was spotted on iOS 10 s Developer Preview as well. Although the Dark Mode did not make it to iOS 10, it could be official on iOS 11. Found under a new feature called Invert Colors in the Settings menu, this turns light backgrounds dark but without affecting the images and icons. This new feature will possibly be a better version of the already available Night Shift on iOS 10.

iOS 11 brings native GIF support

Spotted on Reddit, iOS 11 will bring native GIF support to your iPhones and iPads. Now you can view GIFs directly on the Photos app under an album called ‘Animated’. Previously, one could view GIFs on messaging and third-party apps only.

Suggestions for clearing space on your devices

iOS 11 will help iPhone and iPad users with storage problems as it will provide suggestions on how to reduce space. The Storage settings will have specific recommendations on similar photos that can be deleted, long iMessage threads, and attachments as well. More ways to save space

In line with saving space in your devices, iOS 11 has a new addition called Offload Unused Apps . Shared by Ryan Jones on Twitter, this toggle on/off feature will be available under iTunes & App Stores in the Settings menu. Siri gets Type to Text feature

Siri is already getting smarter on iOS 11 with the new translation feature, a more natural sounding voice and suggesting information related to your usage. What many may not know is that on iOS 11 you will be able to Type to Siri if it doesn t catch your command properly. Setting up a new iPhone gets easier with iOS 11

iOS 11 has a new Automatic Setup feature which will be of great help to users with an Apple ecosystem. On buying a new iPhone and trying to set it up, one can simply place it near another of their iOS device or Mac and the personalized settings and iCloud Keychain passwords will be transferred. Developers on iOS 11 get a new ARKit which they can use on the iPhone and iPad itself to create apps with augmented reality. iOS 11 brings real-time notifications to native Mail app

Gmail users who sync their accounts to the native Mail app on iOS suffer the problem of delayed notifications. Despite trials, the longest frequency time of a mail notification went up to 15 minutes. Reported by 9to5mac, this new update can be activated by selecting ‘Automatically’ fetch schedule option under the Settings menu.

Say bye-bye to signal circles
