Apple has released iOS 12 adoption rate for its devices. As measured by the App Store, iOS 12 adoption has been considerably faster than that of iOS 11. Apple notes that iOS 12 is now installed on more than 70 percent of all iPhones, iPads, and the iPod touch. On its Developer Site, Apple shared iOS figures measured till December 3. The data reveals that 72 percent of all Apple devices sold in last four years now have iOS 12 installed, whereas iOS 11 is used on 21 percent of devices. Apple had shared similar figures last year on December 4, which only had 59 percent for iOS 11. Additionally, iOS 12 adoption figures have also been published by third-party firm Mixpanel (via AppleInsider). These results show that iOS 12 passed the 75 percent milestone on November 26, beating iOS 11 to the figure by a few weeks.
Quick adoption of iOS 12 than that of iOS 11 suggests that users are becoming increasingly aware of the security and functionality benefits of using the latest software, and also suggests that easier access to internet is helping users update faster.
