As expected, Apple has released iOS 8 today at 10:30PM IST. While many iPhone and iPad users were eagerly waiting to download the update, most were in for a shock when the slightly under 1GB update file required almost 6GB of free space to install. This is a bummer, especially for iPhone 5C 8GB users and anyone else who has been using their iPhones for a while and doesn’t have enough space on their device. Thankfully, there is a work around that doesn’t involve you choosing what data to delete from your device. Our advice would be to skip the OTA update and just connect your device to iTunes and backup your phone. Check for software update via iTunes and that should help with the space limitation. Before starting the update, remember to backup your iPhone or iPad to your PC or Mac with iTunes. So essentially you backup, update and then restore your device without losing any content. Good luck with your update, though we’d recommend you wait till tomorrow to do it.
