The sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus began in full swing in many countries today. The devices hit retail stores in Australia, US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, and Singapore. Lines were shaping up outside all Apple Stores in these countries and the mood was beginning to turn feverish. The gates opened at 8:00AM in all countries and loyalists finally got to get personal with the two devices. Here are some insane photos of fans around the world lining up for launch day.
Each country had their elated first customers who got their two seconds of fame for being so patient. David Rahimi travelled from California to the Sydney Apple Store to become the first guy in the world to purchase the iPhone 6. Many celebrities were also seen buying the device.
Australian buyers were the first to get their hands on the iPhones because of the time zone, which is several hours ahead of the US and other parts of the world. Jack Cooksey was the first guy to buy the iPhone 6 in Perth, and in his apparent excitement accidentally dropped his iPhone. London also witnessed the same love for the Apple devices. Crowds gathered ahead of the launch at the Apple store Covent Garden.
In Germany, people were seen typing on older model of Apple’s iPhones as they waited to enter the Apple Store at 8:00AM. Hundreds of people had waited in a line that went around the block through the night in order to be among the first people to buy the new smartphone.
Apple revealed that iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders had set a new overnight record by garnering four million pre-orders in the first 24 hours. The iPhones are scheduled to come to India next month.
