Apple is all set to launch the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in India on October 7. Earlier today, Apple also revealed the prices of the new iPhones, which start at Rs 60,000 and go all the way up to Rs 92,000. Along with it, Apple has revised the prices of its earlier iPhones the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone SE. Like with the iPhone 7, Apple has doubled the internal storage on the older iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus as well. Now, Apple will only sell the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in 32GB and 128GB variants. The iPhone 6s 32GB variant is priced at Rs 50,000, which is Rs 12,000 cheaper than the launch price of the iPhone 6s 16GB of Rs 62,000. The iPhone 6s 128GB variant, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 60,000, which is Rs 22,000 less than its launch price of Rs 82,000. Similarly, the iPhone 6s Plus 32GB variant is priced at Rs 60,000, which is Rs 12,000 less than launch price of Rs 72,000 for 16GB variant. The iPhone 6s Plus 128GB has also seen revision of Rs 22,000, and is now priced at Rs 70,000. Having said that, comparing with the launch price doesn’t mean much in real world, considering the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus sold significantly below their launch price with both online and offline retailers. The iPhone 6s 16GB, for instance has been selling for approximately Rs 42,000 online and the iPhone 6s 64GB is easily available under Rs 55,000. Apple hasn t bumped the base storage of iPhone SE, and it still starts at Rs 39,000 for 16GB storage variant. The iPhone SE 64GB variant has seen revision of Rs 44,000, which is Rs 5,000 less compared to the launch price of Rs 49,000. Now, while the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5s aren t listed on the Apple India website, the company is expected to continue to sell them till stocks last. But that isn’t new for Apple. Even though Apple had stopped selling the iPhone 5s in the US last year, it still sells in India and in fact, was one of the best selling iPhones for Apple in the country. Now, coming to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple premium retailers have also started taking pre-registrations, where you can pay as low as Rs 1,000 up to Rs 10,000 to book one in advance. The iPhone 7 will be available in three storage variants — 32GB onboard storage priced at Rs 60,000, 128GB storage priced at Rs 70,000 and 256GB storage priced at Rs 80,000. The iPhone 7 Plus, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 72,000 for 32GB storage, Rs 82,000 for 128GB storage and Rs 92,000 for 256GB storage.
In addition to silver, gold and rose gold, Apple has also introduced two color variants black and jet black with glossy finish. The Jet Black variant will be limited edition on 128GB and 256GB storage, and from what we are hearing from the retailers, the demand for it far outstrips the supply. The stocks for both iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 overall are expected to be in short supply. Apple today announced in the US that it had run out of stock of all iPhone 7 Plus variants in all colors, as well as the iPhone 7 in jet black color.
