Smartphone brand Tecno Mobile, touted as the premium smartphone brand of Transsion India, has announced that it is partnering with an Indian Premier League team ahead of the start of IPL 2018. Tecno has tied up with Kings XI Punjab as the official smartphone partner of the team for IPL 2018. Kings XI Punjab players will sport Tecno branding on the team uniforms during matches, and Tecno has also stated that it is planning new product launches during the IPL season to capitalize on the attention and publicity. IPL 2018 kicks off on 7 April this year, with the season’s opening match scheduled to take place between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Superkings in Mumbai. Kings XI Punjab is scheduled to play its first match on 8 April at the team’s home ground in Mohali, Punjab against the Delhi Daredevils. The 2018 IPL season is the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League and features eight teams from major cities across India competing for the trophy. The 2017 edition was won by the Mumbai Indians. Tecno Camon i and Tecno Camon i Air
Tecno recently launched two new smartphones in India. The Tecno Camon i is priced at Rs 8,999, and sports a 5.65-inch HD+ screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone is powered by the Mediatek MT6737H SoC and comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The Tecno Camon i Air is a slightly more affordable device, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, and the rest of the specifications being similar. Both phones have 13-megapixel rear cameras, while the Tecno Camon i also sports a 13-megapixel front camera. The Tecno Camon i Air has an 8-megapixel front camera.

Tecno Mobile is present in 40 countries across the globe, with a major presence in Africa. The brand is among the top three smartphone makers in Africa, and is part of the Transsion Holdings group which is based in China. Apart from Tecno, Transsion Holdings also markets smartphones under the Infinix and iTel brands, all of which have a growing presence in India.
