Xiaomi Redmi 1S is now going to be sold for the eleventh time on Flipkart. Almost 65,000 units are up for grabs, and the sale will begin at 2.00PM today. Only registered users will be able to participate in the sale and this time, Xiaomi has not announced the number of people who have registered for the sale.
This could be the end of the Redmi 1S sale in India, with Xiaomi’s yesterday’s launch of the Redmi Note, which will be up for pre-registration today at 6.00PM and the company will sell it in the similar fashion as its previous sales on December 2 on Flipkart. Xiaomi has confirmed that it will only sell the Redmi Note on December 2 and December 9, and has no confirmed plans to have another Redmi 1S sale.
The Redmi Note is priced at Rs 8,999 and packs great specs. It also has a 4G variant specially ‘made for India’ and is priced at Rs 9,999. It is confirmed that on December 2 and December 9, Flipkart will only conduct flash sales for the Redmi Note exclusively. However, when asked about the end of Redmi 1S flash sales, the company chose to not confirm anything.
The Redmi 1S began its flash sale saga on a very high note with up to 1 lakh phones being lapped up in seconds. However, as the flash sales reached in its ninth and tenth ladder, the heat started to subside.
As a precautionary measure, Flipkart still reiterates that all those who are interested in buying the Redmi 1S, be online atleast 2 hours prior to the sale. From 6.00PM today, the registrations for the Redmi Note will begin on Flipkart.
