Samsung is expected to launch a smartphone with a flexible display later this month and it could be nothing like what we imagined. While we were hoping to see a smartphone where the display curves towards one of the edges for a ticker menu like the one Samsung showed at CES this year, established leaker @evleaks has posted a photo that looks similar to the Galaxy S4 but with a prominent concave display. We have seen smartphones with a slightly curved display but never this prominent. This will launch as the SM-G910S and will be exclusive to Korea initially. A flexible display would be sturdier and won’t shatter easily and at the same time won’t get scratched easily either as only a small part of the display would touch the surface when the phone is kept facing down. The contour would also feel more comfortable to hold against one’s cheeks. Samsung is expected to make the announcement sometime this month and it could be called Galaxy Round. LG is also said to be working on its own version of a smartphone with a flexible display, called the Z.
