Hong Kong-based iVoomi has launched one of the cheapest smartphone with full-view display in India. The new iVoomi iPro, despite its entry-level price, packs features that we have only seen on devices in the higher end of the price spectrum.
The company says its new iPro smartphone is based on market research and the pent-up demand for entry-level smartphones in the country. “After due diligence, and an extensive research, we realized that there is an ever-growing demand for entry level smartphones in the country. iVOOMi iPro has been designed keeping in mind the aspirations of a typical smartphone buyer in India who wants to own the best of technology without burning a hole in his pocket,” said Ashwin Bhandari, CEO, iVOOMi India.
iVoomi iPro: Price and Offers
The iVoomi iPro is priced at Rs 3,999 and the company says it will be available for purchase starting September 20. The smartphone will be exclusive to Flipkart and Reliance Jio users can avail cashback worth Rs 2,200 as part of “Jio Football Offer” by recharging their connections with Rs 198 or Rs 299 prepaid plan.
iVoomi iPro: Specifications and Features
The iVoomi iPro features a 4.95-inch Full View display with FWVGA+ resolution of 960 x 480 pixels and taller 18:9 apect ratio. iVoomi is calling the display as shatterproof but it is not as clear whether the display is certified to not break when you accidentally drop the device. If iVoomi iPro’s display is as shatterproof as the one on Moto Z2 Force then it would be a major achievement for such a cheap device but we doubt that to be the case.
The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 chipset, which is a quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz. The processor is aided by 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and support for expandable storage up to 128GB via SD card slot. As far as camera is concerned, iVoomi has equipped the iPro with a 5-megapixel rear camera with soft LED flash. At the front, there is a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The front camera also serves the purpose of facial recognition and can be used to unlock the device using face unlock.

The camera also support AR Emoji, a feature that is becoming a trend among all new smartphones lately. In terms of connectivity, the iVoomi iPro supports 2G, 3G and both TDD-LTE and FDD-LTE in addition to WiFi, Bluetooh and GPS. The smartphone is part of Google’s Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition but comes overlayed with iVoomi’s SmartMe 3.0 interface. The dual-SIM samrtphone is backed by a 2,000mAh battery, which makes it a decent smartphone for the asking price.
