FCA India has finally revealed the pricing of its most affordable Jeep model in India, which starts from Rs 14.95 lakh, and goes up to Rs 20.65 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-of-the-line 4WD model. Jeep Compass will be available in a choice of two engine options along with seven variants which are Sport, Longitude, Longitude (O), Limited, Limited (O), Limited 4X4 and Limited 4X4 (O). FCA s Ranjanagaon facility in Maharashtra is the producing plant for the Jeep Compass, and 80 percent localization has helped in keeping the prices extremely competitive. Jeep Compass Features
The cabin of the Jeep Compass has a fair amount of goodies on offer as the top-spec Limited (O) gets a 7-inch U-Connect infotainment system, which even responds to drag-and-drop, pinch-to-zoom gestures, and allows connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay while the sound output is emitted through six factory fitted speakers. The driver s instrument cluster comes with a 3.5-inch display, which is flanked by the speedometer and rev counter. It offers information regarding the fuel economy, trip distance, gear indicator and more.
The top spec model with all the bells and whistles is available with a leather wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, acoustic windshield, and ski grey leather upholstery. On the safety front, Jeep claims that the Compass has a comprehensive list of 50 features, and the most prominent ones include advanced chassis control, 4-channel ABS, full function traction control, Electronic Stability Control, Panic Brake Assist, Hydraulic Boost Failure Compensation, Electronic Roll Mitigation, all season tyres, Electronic Parking Brake, reverse parking camera and six airbags. Jeep Compass off-road Specifications
Jeep Compass is available with a tried and tested 2.0-liter Multijet II diesel engine, which delivers 173PS with 350Nm of peak torque with a company claimed efficiency of 17.1kpl for 4X2 variant, and 16.3kpl for the 4X4 variant. The petrol is 1.4-litre Multiair unit, which belts out 162PS with 250Nm of peak torque. The transmission options will be available in form of seven-speed dual clutch gearbox or six-speed manual transmission, which provides power to the all four wheels of the vehicle.
The off-road prowess is further enhanced by Jeep Active Drive system which provides four modes Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud. Jeep Compass Design
Jeep Compass has been inspired from the flagship Cherokee, and comes with the signature seven slot front grille,17-inch alloy wheels, power folding ORVMs (outside rear view mirrors), bi-xenon projector headlamps with LED DRLs, and cornering fog lamps and LED taillights and a contrast roof.
