Jharkhand on the path of digitilization: IT secretary Satyendra Singh

Jharkhand is on the path of digitization, state Information and Technology secretary Satyendra Singh said today. Giving details about the department, Singh said that under the digital literacy campaign one lakh people have become digital literates while four lakh people have registered and got training on digitalization. The department has begun e-prerak to train the poor and the youth, he said adding they would be trained about email, online form, website, mobile and other learning. Addressing a press conference, Singh said with the assistance of BSNL Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity is being started in extremist-affected areas. Now 782 BTS BSNL towers are being developed for Wi-Fi Hotspots by the BSNL, which would help connectivity in the remotest areas. This will help 15 lakh people of 2000 villages, Singh Said. Stating work was in the last phase to connect 1.06 crore out of 1.70crore with DBT, he said 55 lakh beneficiaries are being given money through DBT now. Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYozana, 1.20 crore accounts have been opened, 87 percent of the accounts have been made Aadhaar seeding and 58 percent passbooks have been made mobile seeding while 74.43 percent Rupay cards have been issued, he said. Singh said that construction of four new Software Technology Park started, which would be completed by December this year. E-bank manager, e-merchant manager, and network managers have been appointed in every district while e-block manager has been appointed in every block, Singh said.
