Jio Media Cable that connects JioPhone to your TV may launch soon at Rs 1,499

With Jio Media Cable, users will be able to connect JioPhone with old CRT and latest LCD/LED televisions.

Last year, we first heard about Jio Media Cable which lets JioPhone connects to your TV to stream content, live channels and more. Now according to a Twitter user, Reliance Jio is all set to launch the much-awaited Jio Media Cable soon at a price of Rs 1,499. With Jio Media Cable, users will be able to connect JioPhone with old CRT and latest LCD/LED televisions. The Jio Media Cable will come in two variants, one with HDMI support which will connect to all LCD/ LED televisions with HDMI port and other with RCA cable to connect your old televisions with AV input. The package bundle will contain a small adapter and a cable. Jio has kept the packaging color coded to differentiate HDMI and RCA variants. The HDMI variant will have a red packaging (M533), whereas the blue box pack is for RCA cable (M532).

After connecting your JioPhone to a TV, you will be able to cast all the channels from JioTV app as well as content from other Jio apps like Jio Cinema.

With this combination of Jio Media Cable and JioPhone, it will act as a streaming device and you’ll be able to use Jio 4G to stream content, there will be no need to connect it to Wi-Fi.

While we don’t know about the Jio Media Cable availability as yet, what we know is that Reliance has a flash sale for JioPhone 2 today. Consumers will be able to purchase the device from Jio’s website and MyJio app at 12PM. The JioPhone 2 is priced at Rs 2,999. However, if you make the payment through Paytm wallet, you ll get a flat cashback of Rs 200 off that price.
